"MEDICAL NIGHT" at BATCAVE GRAND RE-OPENING
featuring 45 GRAVE & THE ART OF BLEEDING

Rising from a brief and funereal slumber, Batcave celebrates it's Grand RE--opening with a stitch-busting Medical Theme Night featuring the paramedical hanky-panky of THE ART OF BLEEDING and a special performance by legendary proto-deathrockers 45 Grave. Fronted by the delightfully theatrical Dinah Cancer, this ghoulish spectacle takes the stage at 11pm. Medical aftercare provided by the unlicensed nurses and unhinged ambulance attendants of The Art of Bleeding in their makeshift "nightliffe hospital." After enjoying dubious treatments, gratuitous medical exams and questionable "medical re-education," you will be free to stumble through the Batcave's various chambers, rubbing elbows and body parts with the vinyl-and-velvet -clad throng. Take in the dark and diseased art show, enjoy the Go-Go Bat Dancers and DJ's (Including Jermz of 45 Grave), or have your own private Industrial-EBM-Futurepop-Deathrock-Darkwave grand mall on the dance floor. Arrive early for the $1 "Blood Shots"

The Dragonfly, 6510 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles (Hollywood), CA 90038-1408. $5 Entry with printed flyer before 11pm, $10 Entry with printed flyer after 11pm, (Flyer on BatCave's MySpace page. $15 without flyer, 21+

ART OF BLEEDING & FRIENDS at CIA
Los Angeles, CA

The Art of Bleeding returns to the curio-crammed sideshow environs of California Institute of Abnormal Arts for another night of grievously misguided health-and-safety lessons. Abram the Safety Ape, RT the Robot Teacher, and the wise old hand puppet Dr. Moody are joined by the delectably unprofessional Art of Bleeding Nurses in the latest episode of "Magic Ambulance Theater." Surgically reconstructed AoB "funmaker" Dr. Sunshine (with surprise guest) offers new and powerful demonstrations of laughter as a medicine of last resort. Outside medical consultants of Kabeza de Vaka Arcestra provide a visionary soundtrack makeover for a vintage classroom health-and-safety film. Alternative comedian Robert Selander explores the possibilities of home surgery, and magician Bieno Svengali exposes audience members to high levels of X-ray radiation, all in the name of Safety Consciousness. The evening will be hosted by Danny Shorago of the Fuxedos. SPECIAL PRIZES FOR THOSE ARRIVING IN HOSPITAL ATTIRE!

California Institute of Abnormal Arts (CIA), 11334 Burbank Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91601, $12 at door, $10 w/ costume. Doors 8:30pm.
Entrance to CIA. Treasures within include the glass-encased corpse of a clown, preserved fairy, mummified arm, and more.
Bieno Svengali likes snakes.
Robert Selander is magical.
